Circus Circus!

This past weekend we went to Circus Circus for the first time. At first Addyson had a really hard time committing to ride any of the rides. She at first really wanted to ride on the airplanes that go in a big circle and have the steering wheel that lets them go up and down. Evan put her in and she was having fun until Evan walked away and then the panic set in and she stood up...luckily this happened before the ride started. Then I took her on the carousel and she loved it! We went 4x in a row and wanted to go again but instead we went on a ferris wheel ride and then went back to conquer the airplanes. Addyson did REALLY well! I feel bad about lying to her and telling her that I was just going on a different plane but I think it helped her. Anyway, she ended up going on that 3 more times after that and had a blast. The last ride we went on was a train and it got a little wild for a child's ride and Addyson was concerned the first time around but by the end of the ride was happy about it (she went a few more times). There was a really cute video of her riding on it but I couldn't bring myself to spend the $20 for the 2 minute video....

More home decorating challenges

Addyson's a school girl

Addyson has been going to school for a little over a month now and she loves it!  The bus comes and picks her up at the house and she gets so excited!  She knows all of her letters and their sounds, she knows her colors, shapes, and her teacher tells me that she knows her numbers.  She started sleeping in the top bunk yesterday and loves it!  She thinks she is so big!

Addyson's first ice cream experience! I've never seen her lick food from her lips before! She usually freaks out until it gets wiped off. Haha!

This is Addyson's room.
We got a bunk bed to lure friends and family who have children to come visit.  I found the paper flower ball things at T.J. Maxx and Evan and I put them together.  It was quite a bit more time consuming than I thought that it would be.  Evan is amazing and had the idea to hang them up with fishing line and he did it (very patiently) while I told him to move them around over and over until they were where I wanted them.  Addyson loves climbing up and down the ladder.  Last week when her friend (Gigi) came from Utah she showed her how to get down, she even tried to help guide Gigi's feet to each of the ladder rungs while telling her to hold on tight.  Addyson loves her room!!!

This is the guest bedroom.  The bed is a solid memory foam cal king mattress to accommodate even the tallest members of the family!

And this is the guest bathroom upstairs.  Evan's sister Shandra decorated it.  It was my birthday gift from Annette and Shandra.

The Big Move

We are now living in Las Vegas, NV. Evan called me in the evening on a Tuesday and told me that he found a house and that he wanted to surprise me with ALL of the details. Addyson was already asleep so I couldn't go get boxes. He flew in at 9 the next morning and that's when we started everything then (getting boxes, picking up the truck, and packing). We had friends come and help us pack the truck and my friend Nicci watched Addyson. Evan finished packing the truck Thursday morning and I finished the cleaning and then we drove to Las Vegas. The house is fantastic and the neighborhood is quiet! We have an extra bedroom for visitors!

Here are some pics from the cruise we went on this past month. We went to Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. In Puerta Vallarta we went on a zip line excursion which was really fun! In Mazatlan we just walked around and did a little shopping. In Cabo we went on a boat tour and went snorkeling. The trip was very fun and relaxing! While we were gone Addyson stayed with Evan's sister's family in Las Vegas and had a blast with them!

Happy Holidays! A lot has happened this year, we lived in New Jersey for a few months. Addyson has become better friends with some of her cousins. She isn't too close to London yet (London likes to terrorize Addyson), to be fair London has to fight for her toys and Addyson is a little bit of a push over and they are only 5 days apart. I am going to be making 'Mom's homemade bread' for Christmas and I'm going to making the traditional Hendershot Christmas Eve dinner again this year.
